Brazil football legend Pele has been taken to a special care unit in a Sao Paulo hospital as his condition has worsened.
The 74-year-old was admitted to Albert Einstein Hospital on Monday with a urinary infection, local media reports said.
The hospital said Pele was transferred to the unit after his condition became unstable.
"To receive the best care he was transferred in order to be monitored in a special care unit," a statement from the hospital said.
The three-time World Cup champion underwent surgery at the same hospital for kidney stones on 13 November.
Born Edson Arantes do Nascimento, the man the world knows as Pele is regarded by many as the greatest footballer of all time.
