Fatigue Overwhelms Chelsea!

The league leaders maintained their seven-point lead over Manchester City thanks to Willian’s deflected 89th-minute goal.

The Blues didn’t have it all their own way but Gareth Barry’s red card helped towards the end and it always felt like it was a matter of time.

Matic admits tiredness was evident but the three points were huge.

“This game shows it’s going to be difficult,” Matic told BT Sport.

“We were tired because of the many games we’ve played, it’s going to be like this, as any team against us will give 100 per cent. But I don’t care as we are ready and keep going.”

Goalkeeper Petr Cech, impressive on his recall to the side ahead of Thibaut Courtois, added: “I’m delighted with the three points but there is a long way to go.

“We put these three points under the belt, we’re delighted with that and we go to the next game.”
