Flying Eagles Qualify For World Cup!

The Flying Eagles have qualified for the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup, after they defeated Congo 4-1 at the ongoing African Youth Championship.

Musa Muhammed scored twice, while Taiwo Awoniyi and Ifeanyi Matthew added further goals, as Manu Garba’s boys claimed their second win at the tournament.

Goalkeeper Joshua Ehaholo, was shown a red card for a foul on Fred Ngoma on the edge of the penalty area.

But the Flying Eagles continued to attack and were rewarded with their second goal, after Awoniyi was brought down inside the box.

Awoniyi’s pace troubled the Congolese constantly and he won another spot-kick nine minutes after the break. Muhammed stepped up again and scored, before Awoniyi himself grabbed the last goal.

Ganvoula Mboussy scored the consolation goal for Congo.
