NIGERIAN ASISAT WINS BBC WOMEN FOOTBALLER OF THE YEAR AWARD!

Reaction is coming in after the announcement of Nigerian and Liverpool striker Asisat Oshoala as winner of the first ever BBC Women's Footballer of the Year award.

President of the Nigerian Football Federation Amaju Pinnock said:

"We are so excited and proud of Asisat, she's just 20, she's a star in the making."

She beat Spain's Veronica Boquete, German Nadine Kessler, Scot Kim Little and Brazilian Marta to the honour.

The award is the first of its kind hosted by a global broadcaster.
