BOY, 13, IN COMA AFTER HIT AND RUN IN WESTFIELD

UPDATE: A 36-year-old man appears at Hammersmith Magistrates’ Court today in connection with this incident. He has been charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident, and driving with no insurance.

Saboor Gul was knocked down by a light green Ford Focus on Bulwer Street around 1.40pm on Saturday as he walked to a study group.

Saboor’s father Ghafoor Gul said “He is currently in a coma and there is concern about the pressure to his brain. We are told his condition is serious but stable.”

He appealed for “the driver who left my son bleeding and lying helplessly in the road” to “do the decent thing” and hand himself in.

The car was found abandoned on nearby India Way a short time later.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the suspect fleeing from the car, is asked to contact police witness appeal line on 020 8543 5157, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
