KNIFE-CHASE AT LIVERPOOL STREET

A man produced a knife then chased a group of teenage boys through a Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria train, terrifying passengers.

The boys were travelling between Wickford and Hockley around 1.50am on Saturday August 15 when they got “involved in an altercation” with an older man. PC Lauren Newling said: “A fight broke out and other passengers stepped in to stop the violence.

“The older man then got off the train, but the two groups continued to argue and the man got back on.” It was at this point that the situation escalated. PC Newling continued: “The man produced a knife and chased the teenagers through the train. “He then got off at Hockley station. This was a violent incident which frightened other passengers.” The British Transport Police (BTP) today released this image of a man they want to speak to about the incident. Anyone with information should contact BTP on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference ESUB/B3 of 12/10/2015, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
