Man ‘punched teenager in the face’ on Metropolitan Line tube

A 19-year-old was punched in the face by a man - who was also verbally abusing him - on a Metropolitan Line tube train as it pulled in to Harrow on the Hill station, according to British Transport Police (BTP).

The vicious assault happened in broad daylight on Saturday September 12 around 5.10pm.

A BTP spokesperson said today that a man travelling on the Adgate-bound train began being “confrontational” with passengers, threatening and shouting at them before beginning to abuse the 19-year-old victim.

The man then “punched the victim to his face”.

PC Michael Willoughby said: “I am keen to speak to anyone who was on board that service that may have witnessed this incident. Everyone has the right to travel on the rail network without fear or intimidation.

“This sort of behaviour will not be tolerated and I urge people to come forward with any information that they may have.”

Anyone with information should contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference T-SUB/B3 of 07/10/15, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
