Sleep over with lions at London Zoo!

If you let your cat curl up on your bed, then you might just love the opportunity to sleep over with lions at London Zoo.

No, you won’t actually be in the lion enclosure, but you’ll be as close as you can safely get if you snuggle up in the luxury private cabins next to the Asiatic lion enclosure.

There is just one last group of Asiatic lions left in the wild, and they live in the Gir forest in India. London Zoo have recreated the guest houses of a nearby town to provide you with a wild place to stay near the big cats.

The overnight breaks start with a sumptuous meal, followed by an exclusive evening tour where you will learn all about the endangered lions.

After a restful night in your en-suite cabin, you’ll be treated to breakfast and a guided morning tour of the zoo before it opens to visitors.

Tickets for this immersive adventure go on sale today, but they’re not cheap, with prices starting at £378 per couple (family options are also available).

Still, London Zoo expect tickets to be pounced on quickly. Emma Taylor, head of product development at ZSL, said: “ZSL London Zoo is a magical place at night – we wanted people of all ages to have a chance to enjoy that magic, and immerse themselves in a fantastic experience unlike any other, sleeping near to our magnificent Asiatic lions.

“It’s hard to believe you’re in the heart of the capital when you’re surrounded by the noises of the wild. Staying overnight at the Gir Lion Lodge in London’s most unique destination will give guests the chance to explore the Zoo on a hosted tour, while helping to fund our work for wildlife around the world.”
