UK-based wave-making contemporary Juju musician, Sunday Adeola Ogunyemi (widely known as Quintessential Sunny Melody) has lost his mum. The popular musician’s mum, Mama Tawakalitu Abeke Ogunyemi died in Abeokuta, Ogun State after a brief illness. She was aged 70.
Incidentally, the London-based musician is currently in Nigeria, where he has been playing at scheduled shows and events.
Late Mama Ogunyemi is survived by her children; Oluyemisi Ogun (nee Ogunyemi) Bamitale Ogunyemi, Busayo Babatunde (nee Ogunyemi), Sunday Ogunyemi (Sunny Melody) Buki Oduntan (Nee Ogunyemi), and a robust family.
Speaking with CityScoop this afternoon, Sunny Melody while reacting to the news of his mum’s demise said “I have always believed in the Bible verse that says ‘God giveth..and He taketh’, therefore I can only say may God grant her eternal rest”.
The deceased was born in Ajilete Okeodan, Yewa Local Government area of Ogun State.
