UK to make visa fee cheaper?

We trust UK! UK will not do that at all. UK needs more funds for Brexit even if the fat cats are all ignored!

The number of Indian tourists to UK has steadily declined in last couple of years and at the same time, there’s a significant jump in Indian tourists visiting its neighboring country-France. In order to get back the mojo and attract Indians, the UK think-tank suggested that government should make the tourist visa fee much cheaper. A non-governmental organization Royal CommonWealth Society (RCS) has made a study and offered some suggestions to UK government in this regard.

As per the report ‘Britain and India: Building a New Partnership’ released by RCS, around 6 lakh tourists visited France in 2016. Comparably, UK witnessed 1,85,000 lesser tourists from India. While the share of Indian tourists has been on decline for UK, there have been a growing number of visitors to France.

France saw a good jump of 5.3% when compared with the previous year, but UK observed a fall of 1.73%. So, the RCS recommended UK government to lessen the tourist visa fee to attract more visitors from India and it also proposed to bring down the two-year visa fee from 388 pounds to just 89 pounds.

This change would also strengthen the business ties between India and Britain, apart from further development of U.K, as per think tank’s report.
