The woman who shared the story said she met the lil girl named Chinecherem, aged 7, at Aguda Police station on Monday morning when she went to sort out an issue at the station. The girl had bruises on her stomach, back and ankle… a very big lump on the head and could barely turn her neck. On enquiry, she was told her ‘madam’ inflicted the injuries on her for eating at a neighbour’s house around 1:00pm on Sunday.

Chinecherem who could only speak Igbo language said she was very hungry and her madam told her to finish washing up her son's clothes and tidy up the house before eating. In the course of washing the clothes, she felt dizzy and told a neighbour who took her into her house and gave her some food. "Madam" must have strolled out and noticed the girl’s absence from her duty post which resulted to the battering.

It was concerned neighbour’s that brought the girl and the madam to the police station. The woman is currently cooling off her heels in the cell.

Chinecherem was brought to Lagos last year by her madam. Her father is dead and her mother resides in the village. She is yet to be enrolled into a school.
