A video (below) of a police man exchanging blows with a young lady in Lekki has surfaced on YouTube.

The assault on the woman which allegedly occurred on Monday, September 21, underscores the indiscipline perpetuated by some policemen in public.

The 15 second video shows the policeman, identified as Mr. IK Okocha, who is attached to the Maruko police station in Lekki phase 1 battling it out with a young lady, Aisha (as the video suggested). He dished slaps on the face of the young while those who seemed like the friends of the lady tried to stop them from fighting, all to no avail.

Aisha was also shown in the video removing her cloth to fight with the policeman who probably had angered her before the video started. While Aisha’s friend urged her to stop, other police officials present at the scene, urged the Officer Okocha who seemed to be drunk, to stop but none of the two listened. The police man was however said to have tried shooting the young lady.

The shouts of the policeman telling the young lady ‘you dey craze?’, ‘nah me you dey fight?’ could be heard in the video.

One of the persons who witnessed the shameful occurrence said:

”A police man attached to the Maruko police station in Lekki phase 1 who goes by the name Mr Ik Okocha assaulted a woman yesterday. I witnessed the incident. The police man was smelling of alcohol and he looked and spoke like he was not in his right state of mind. The lady had an argument with a taxi driver then the police man decided to get involved.

He wrestled with the girl and punched her even after his fellow police men told him to leave the girl. He was also going to get his rifle to shoot the girl, if it wasn’t for the other police men who stopped him.
