Police have launched an appeal after a woman went missing from a London hospital hours after giving birth – leaving her healthy baby boy behind.

Anna Chudy had been admitted to Northwick Park Hospital in Harrow on Wednesday night, and delivered her child by caesarean section in the early hours of Thursday morning.

But at 10.30am on Friday, CCTV images show the 35-year-old leaving the Accident and Emergency department in the company of an unidentified male.

Police believe she left Northwick Park Hospital with this unidentified man

He has been described as white, with short dark brown hair and an athletic build.

The Metropolitan Police said he was wearing a black leather jacket with patches on the elbows, along with dark trousers.

Detective Sergeant Adrian Smith added: "This is a vulnerable woman who needs to be located as soon as possible so she can be reunited with her baby boy.

"We are not looking to trace her with the intention of pursuing any criminal matters against her, our only concern is her safe return.

"It is of paramount importance that anyone who has any information about her whereabouts contacts us immediately."

:: Anyone with information on Ms Chudy's whereabouts is being asked to contact Brent CID on 07584 779085, or call on 101.
