A commercial sex worker in Asaba, Delta State (name withheld) has absconded with her customer’s N3.5m in a hotel.

Our correspondent learnt that the businessman (name withheld), who is a politician in Asaba, lodged into the hotel on Friday night around Abraka Road.

Sources in the hotel said the businessman lodged into the hotel with the name; Fredrick Thomas, a businessman in Port-Harcourt.

An employee of the hotel, told our correspondent: “The customer cried out the following day. We asked him was wrong and he told us that a woman he brought into the hotel a day before disappeared with his brief case containing N3.5m and vital documents. We checked the lodging booklet and discovered that he came into the hotel alone.’’

It was further learnt that the businessman had approached one of the workers in the hotel to help him arrange for a sex worker, an assignment the worker turned down, saying it was against the rules of the hotel.

Our correspondent gathered that the businessman later went out of the hotel to bargain with a prostitute at Summit Junction who he brought into his room in the hotel.

The victim who reluctantly spoke to our correspondent said, “I slept off after a round of sex. I can only recall that I slept off to wake the next day and discovered that my brief case containing N3.5m and other valuable items had disappeared. The sex worker was also nowhere to be found.’’

SUNDAY PUNCH gathered that the police from “A” Division, Asaba, where the case was reported, have commenced investigation into the matter and had arrested two of the hotel workers.

Efforts to speak with the Divisional Police Officer of ‘A’ Division were futile as he was said to be unavailable.

But a senior police officer who did not want his name in print confirmed the arrest of the two hotel workers.
