Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: MARCH MUSIC(6)
Jockey: L Hewitson - Trainer: Y Bremner

MARCH MUSIC is clearly above-average and the bay filly built on her promising debut despite competing in a feature over seven furlongs second time out. She produced a powerful late burst for a close 2nd with the likes of Klever Kathy, Just Chaos and Carlita behind her. The daughter of Bold Silvano has her polytrack debut today and she should prove too classy for her maiden rivals.

Race 2: ALAMITO BAY(2)
Jockey: C Murray - Trainer: Tara Laing

Just eight sprinters head to post for this highly competitive five furlong maiden contest which should yield a close and exciting finish. ALAMITO BAY showed good speed before staying on well for 2nd into a strong headwind on debut against winners on the grass earlier this month and he would have come on appreciably from that outing. The chestnut colt is sure to enjoy the likely strong tempo on this surface and he can go one better in maiden company today.

Race 4: THE GOON SHOW(5)
Jockey: R Munger - Trainer: S Kotzen

THE GOON SHOW has the best credentials in this ordinary maiden contest and the son of Pathfork handled the test of stamina well in his recent outing. That said, he is equally capable over this shorter trip and holds strong claims for his in-form yard.

Race 8: FOR LUCK SAKE(2)
Jockey: R Khathi - Trainer: E Kaknis

FOR LUCK SAKE was given a confident ride as he claimed a deserved fifth career triumph three weeks ago. The veteran gelding was upped three pounds for his exertions but he is drawn best of all and quite interestingly, his time was slightly better than that of VARBRATION who contested a much strong- er c & d event a few hours earlier.

Race 6: GLENNIE(2)
Jockey: J Sampson - Trainer: D McKenzie

GLENNIE made late progress in her creditable c & d display which was her first for her new conditioner and she will be fitter now. The former Cape inmate prefers racing with blinkers and she should be highly competitive at this lower-level
