Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: JUNIPER SPRING(7)
Jockey: R FOURIE - Trainer: J SNAITH

JUNIPER SPRING wasn't disgraced when her conditioner made the bold move to debut her in the Nursery over this c & d last month and the full-sister to dual Grade 1 winner Snowdance would have come on appreciably from the experience. She faces maiden opposition today. Her stablemate DOUBLED OVER could be the danger if she improves on her shocking but excusable last run in treacherous conditions.

Race 3: SUITE FRANCAISE(5)
Jockey: B FAYD'HERBE- Trainer: W A NEL

SUITE FRANCAISE expectedly showed smart improvement when she finished her second c & d outing on soft ground in eye-catching fashion. She had the grey filly COURTISAN just over a length and a half adrift of her and the imported brown filly should continue to progress.

TOP BET
Race 4: CAPTAIN OF TORTUGA(6)
Jockey: B FAYD'HERBE - Trainer: J SNAITH

CAPTAIN OF TORTUGA proved his worth with an expected much improved second showing. He was 2nd best behind his stablemate over this c & d that day but the expensive and impeccably bred son of Captain Al should continue to progress.

Race 5: DEEPSTON(7)
Jockey: M BYLEVELD - Trainer: V MARSHALL

This is a highly competitive seven furlong maiden contest, the formline of which could be worth following. The well-related DEEPSTON from the Marshall yard is the narrow first selection after his two useful attempts earlier in the year. The runner-up of his last start Cyber Law won his subsequent outing and this son of Var would have strengthened during the ten week rest.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY
Race 6: NORTHERN BALLET(3)
Jockey: L FERRARIS - Trainer: J SNAITH

Just seven entrants head to post for this really tricky handicap contest which should be run at a decent tempo and that will suit the first selection NORTHERN BALLET. The Snaith inmate admittedly prefers further but she had two fair comeback runs and was making steady progress behind ROYAL FROST whom she meets on 6kgs better terms
