Race 3: TWICE TO SYDNEY(8)
Jockey: R Fourie - Trainer: W Nel

TWICE TO SYDNEY attracted longshot betting support when she ran on late to finish close-up on her promising debut over six furlongs in a decent line-up last month and she should love today's extra furlong. The Piet Steyn coupling of ALPHA SAPPHIRE and ANINA are ordinary types who could fare best of the rest and follow the top selection home

Race 4: EPIC STORM(4)
Jockey: R Fourie - Trainer: C Bass-Robinson

EPIC STORM expectedly relished the rise in distance as she ran on strongly for a close 2nd, just a head in front of her stablemate HAPPY GIRL over ten furlongs recently and her kinder draw sways things in her favour. The latter has a wide stallgate to overcome but should also be effective over this slightly shorter trip

Race 6: GYRE(3)
Jockey: R Fourie - Trainer: A Marcus

Just half a dozen entrants contest this intriguing ten furlong handicap which certainly appears to lack pace but that won't be an issue for GYRE who won a similar event over this c & d last time out. In fact, he easily beat MAN ABOUT TOWN (2kgs worse off) after hitting his top stride late that day and has strong claims of following despite the resultant three pound penalty.

Race 7: SILVER MAPLE(7)
Jockey: R Fourie - Trainer: J Snaith

The day's headline event is an open handicap over seven furlongs where the powerful Snaith outfit is well-represented. The progressive and sparingly raced SILVER MAPLE worked hard to beat fast finishing subsequent winner Silva's Bullet over this c & d with front-running tactics last time out and of course the 3rd placed entrant Earth Hour further enhanced that form line with a last gasp triumph next time out. This bay son of Silvano was upped three pounds for his exertions but clearly has more to come and can follow up.

Race 5: TROOP THE COLOUR(7)
Jockey: A Mgudlwa - Trainer: P Wrensch

TROOP THE COLOUR returned to form with a decent last outing over this c & d in a competitive line-up and he meets the three-year old likely favourite SHABBA RANKS on 2kgs better terms for just a three parts of a length defeat. Furthermore, the chestnut gelding will love the likely strong tempo and he can build on that recent progress.
