Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: DERI (9)
Jockey: Gould T - Trainer: Greeff A

DERI produced a promising debut effort when finishing third over this C&D. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of Noble Tune would have come on with the run under his belt and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat.

Race 3: DUKE OF CARDS (1)
Jockey: Ndlovu X - Trainer: Greeff A

DUKE OF CARDS ran a good race over this C&D, despite casting a shoe and making an abnormal respiratory noise. He has won once and finished third once from three starts over this C&D. The son of Duke Of Marmalade takes a drop in class this afternoon and may be too good for this field.

Jockey: V.Rensburg M - Trainer: Smith G

GLOBAL DRUMMER has been ultra-impressive in his last three victories. He likes to set the pace in his races and wins a lot easier than the official margin

suggests. The son of Global View looks to have plenty of ability and if suited to the polytrack, he should notch up his fifth career victory.

Race 6: EARTH HOUR (3)
Jockey: Byleveld M - Trainer: Nel J

EARTH HOUR stayed on well at the finish in his last start over this C&D. He finished 0.6 lengths behind ROCK ALOE that day and is 1.5kgs better off at the weights. That should be enough for the tables to be turned this afternoon. His last win came under MJ Byleveld and from draw two, he should be the one to side with.

Race 7: OASIS QUEEN (16)
Jockey: Fortune S - Trainer: Strydom J

OASIS QUEEN has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She was slow into stride last time, but finished her race off well. That was against males and she returns to take on her own sex today. She will enjoy the step up in distance and will be mowing down the frontrunners in the run down to the line.
