NEW COAS: Game Of Intrigue And Unpredictability

President Buhari’s masterstroke is his unpredictability!

The last two COAS were infantry officers. We posit that an infantry officer will get the nod. Well, it mostly pans out that way bar the odd exception. Going back to 1996

Bamaiyi (Infantry)

● Malu (Infantry)

● Ogomudia (Signals)

● Azazi (Intelligence / "Infantry")

● Yusuf (Artillery)

Dambazau (Military Police / "Infantry")

● Ihejirika (Engineers)

● Minimah (Infantry)

● Buratai (Infantry)

● Attahiru (Infantry)

Regarding the speculated Maj Gen Ahanoatu: Ahanotu even tho is the 2nd in command going by his office is not a contender IMO. He is from Anambra and that’s not Buharis catchment area. Secondly Irabor is an IKA Igbo, you can’t have two Igbo service chiefs in an Islamist government...fingers crossed!

It should be noted that The "New Telegraph" Reporting This Morning That The Search For A New COAS Has Been Narrowed Down To The Circle Of 8 GOCs Of The Army's Divisions And To 5 Teeth Arms Of The Army, Historically That Means Infantry, Armour, Artillery, Signals & Engineers (Presumably,Corps Commanders).

It’s a beautiful week of intrigues and permutations not forgetting the champions league finals!
