Morrisons worker sacked for yanking off colleague’s hijab twice ‘for a laugh

A Morrisons worker fired for pulling down a junior colleague’s hijab told her ‘she looked pretty without it on’, an employment tribunal has heard.

Natalie McGonigle yanked her co-worker’s headscarf without permission on two separate occasions and was sacked for gross misconduct in February this year.

The team leader claimed her actions were ‘just banter’ and that she thought they were ‘having a laugh’, the East London tribunal heard.
